The Theraphosa TRP Modulator Set captures three chromatographically discrete fractions from Theraphosa blondi venom, each enriched for peptides influencing transient receptor potential (TRP) channels and acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs). Venom Supplies employs orthogonal RP-HPLC and ion-exchange steps to segregate modulators by charge and hydrophobicity, delivering fractions with minimal cross-contamination.
Molecular targets
- Fraction A: Potentiates TRPV1 activation (ECβ β 22 nM) and enhances capsaicin-induced currents.
- Fraction B: Inhibits TRPA1 (ICβ β 18 nM) with high selectivity over TRPM8.
- Fraction C: Stabilizes ASIC1a closed state, dampening acid-induced currents (ICβ β 45 nM).
